THE NITTY GRITTY
Just like the news, not one of our workshop is the same. We keep things topical and relevant and we tailor our courses and sessions to suit the age groups and interests. We offer the following courses:
- In school workshops, talks and lessons
- 1 Day workshops in the holidays and Saturday’s (9.30 – 3.30)
- 1-5 Day workshops in the holidays (9.30 – 3.30)
- My Newsroom club week long workshop during school holidays (Daily 9.30-3.30)
- Option available for early drop off and pick up
- After school clubs at school
- My Newsroom Club newspaper – working with schools to produce their own newspaper.

WHERE DO I GO FOR MY COURSE?
All our courses are held in schools in your area, you will be informed of the venue when you make a booking enquiry.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
Just a packed lunch and drink, all other things such as pens, writing books props etc. will be provided on the course.
DO YOU PROVIDE FOOD AND DRINKS?
No. Children must arrive each day with a packed lunch, snacks and a refillable drinks bottle.
CAN I CHANGE MY BOOKING?
Yes, you can call us to change the programme or the dates your child is attending, providing this is a minimum of 24 hours before your child’s experience starts.
ARE YOU DSB CHECKED?
All our course trainers and people who work at The Newsroom Club have up to date DSB certificates.
CAN I BOOK INDIVIDUAL DAYS?
Yes, you can book individual days in the holidays and we will be offering a series of ‘themed days’ on certain weeks, please check twitter @thenewsroomclub and Facebook for up to date information.
WHAT TIME CAN I DROP OFF AND COLLECT MY CHILD?
All the courses start at 9.30 and finish at 3.30. You have the option of extending this to start at 8.30 and the latest pick up is 5.00pm (an additional cost will be applied per hour)
WHAT AGE DOES MY CHILD MUST BE TO DO THE COURSE?
The course is aimed at children who are 10+ or are in Year 6 and above. Tailored workshops can be provided for younger children on request.
CAN I CONTACT MY CHILD WHILE ON THE COURSE?
We understand that children increasingly use their phones and gadgets, but this is a mobile and gadget free zone! We encourage that they are kept in their bags and only used for essential contact. We will provide you with a central point of contact which you can call at any time while your child is on the course.
